Joanne’s experience with her own bakery in Canal Fulton and now her home-based business has led her to create many beautiful desserts, from wedding and special event cakes to colorful cookies and other delicious treats.  Her years of experience in baking and catering have given her a keen eye for presentation, and she will share her recipes and tips for making simple sugar cookies into works of art, starting with two classic frosting recipes and continuing with hands-on experience in using that frosting to create colorfully decorated cookies that you take home.  We know lots of budding chefs and bakers are artists at heart, so don’t miss this fun and informative class!

This RESCHEDULED class is being held on Thursday, April 27th from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm. This class is a mixed hands-on and demonstration style class where you will taste each recipe prepared, get experience with the techniques, and take the recipes (and samples!) home with you. We encourage your child (ages 8-12 years) to bring an apron to wear in class. The price of the class is $25 plus tax per person, and the menu/itinerary being planned is:

As someone who loves to explore different cuisines, Brenda enjoys learning recipes and then riffing on them to feature local and seasonal Ohio ingredients. In this class, she will share a vegetarian version of the classic hot and sour soup as well as a meatball soup and a spicy Sichuan fish soup, all of which will warm you on a chilly evening or make great comfort food year-round. Have you ever looked at beautifully crafted artisan breads and wondered if you could ever make them at home? Now you can!  Jennifer McMullen, experienced TKS instructor and owner of The Grain Maker (home baking business), will share her basic no-knead bread recipe and tips for adding fabulous flavor and stylish shapes to each loaf in this hands-on class.

In her business, Jennifer has found that as much as she loves her regular bread recipes, she also loves using a basic no-knead dough recipe to make everything from baguettes and rolls to pizzas, flatbreads, and fun shaped breads.  In this class, she will walk you through every step of making the no-knead dough and shaping it into four classic styles to showcase different flavors. If you want to learn some secret professional tips for better baking, you won’t want to miss this class!
