Cooking Classes are now available in our Demonstration Kitchen. Professional Chefs and Guest Food Specialists share their personal passions, knowledge and experience with class students in an upbeat, educational and entertaining way. The date, time, and number of sessions for each class are based on each Instructor’s availability and the cost for the ingredients involved. In addition, every student will receive 10% discount on any purchase made during the day of their class.
All registrations must be received by at least 2 days in advance and accompanied by payment that can be accepted by phone (with Credit / Debit Card) or in person. If you are interested, be sure to register quickly as there is limited space. Once you have selected your class, simply select Register for a Class to send us your request and you will be contacted directly for confirmation and payment.
CLASS SCHEDULE: Below are the monthly calendars reflecting the classes that are scheduled at this time. Any class in BLUE has been included so you can “save the date” but since the details are not yet finalized, formal reservations cannot be taken. However if you are interested, please contact us and we will notify you once the class details are available. For all other classes shown in black, reservations are being accepted.

In May:
Party Food by Kids with Cheryl Davis (5-8 Year Olds) – Friday, May 18th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm ($18+tax). Co-Owner of TKS and Demonstration Kitchen Manager, Jessica will guide your child through making fun Party Snacks to enjoy with friends in this hands-on style class.
Gluten Free Baking with Lynn McGinnis - Saturday, May 19th from 1:00pm to 2:30pm ($24). Learn the subtle differences in taste & texture when working with Gluten Free Dough with Lynn McGinnis, owner and recipe creator for Weedy Ways Gluten Free Baking Mixes.
Island Street Food with Jerrod Weyer – Tuesday May 22nd from 6pm to 7:30pm ($26+tax). Experience Caribbean “fast food” with local Chef, Jerrod as you learn how to prepare recipes using local ingredients that will whisk you away to the Islands with each bite you take.
Beer Class: Home Brewing with Larry Reuter – Friday May 25th from 6pm to 8:30pm ($25+tax). Accomplished home brewer and experienced Home Brewing instructor Larry Reuter of the Grape and Granary in Akron demonstrates the entire “Quick Method” of home brewing.
Single Serving: Creme Brulee with Rick Davis - Tuesday May 29th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm ($15+tax). Our very 1st “Single Serving” style class will feature how to make Creme Brulee and offer various recipe suggestions all while you enjoy your own serving of the dessert with some tea or coffee.
Fish Taco Night with Chef Sherry Schie – Thursday May 31st from 6pm to 7:30pm ($28+tax). Seasoned Instructor, Chef Sherry let’s students make their own hand made flour tortillas as she prepares Taco fillings in this super fun & friendly class! **Only 1-2 seats available**
In June:
LR: Herbal Teas with Jennifer McMullen and Natalie Fitts – Saturday June 2nd from 10am to 11:30am ($20+tax). Mother Nature’s offerings come in various shapes, sizes, and colors. In this class Jennifer & Natalie, both LOCAL ROOTS producers will teach the benefits of drinking Herbal Tea, which can also be grown in your own backyard.
Fresh Herbs with Connie Winkler – Tuesday June 5th from 6pm to 7:30pm ($25+tax). Physically see, feel, smell, and taste 10 different locally grown Fresh Herbs and learn recipes to use them in from the Original Founding Member of the Wayne County Herb Society!
Clean Eating with Chef Sherry Schie - Saturday June 9th from 10am to 11:30am ($26+tax). Enhance your passion for cooking and feeding friends and family by learning all about the international trend of Clean Eating. Chef Sherry will demonstrate 3 Clean recipes and teach you how to develope recipes, too!
2nd Annual Kids Camp (9-13 years) with Jessica Wagner - Monday June 11th through Friday June 15th from 2pm to 3:30pm daily ($50+tax). Children will learn how to use both traditional and trendy kitchen tools and appliances and practice teamwork while making Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, & Desserts with the guidance of our Demonstration Kitchen Manager, Jessica.

Rhubarb! with Sofie Dittmann – Saturday, June 16th from 10am to 11:30am ($25). Rhubarb is one of those vegetables that many people underestimate. In this class Sofie will show you just how delicious Rhubarb can be!
Breads of the World with Sue-min Lee – Saturday June 23rd from 10am to 11:30am ($25+tax). From the Middle East & Italy over to the Ukraine & China, TKS veteran Sue-min will take you on a trip around the globe in a bread basket with her award winning bread recipes!
Herbal Tea Party with Jennifer McMullen – Sunday June 24th from 2pm to 3:30pm ($25+tax). Enjoy Herbal Summertime Tisanes (teas) along with a plethora of snacks & sweets also touched with the love of our Mother Nature’s herbs.
Antipasti! with Fran Grande-Fuller – Monday June 25th from 6pm to 7:30pm ($26+tax). Four Antipasti dishes will be demonstrated that can be enjoyed seperately before your meal or all together as one amazing patio-party with food, friends, and family!
Mukimono Melon with Ann Griffith - Saturday June 30th from 10am to 11:30am ($26+tax). Mukimono is the Japanese art of vegetable & fruit carving and in this hands-on class, Ann Griffith will teach you many ways to create beautiful flowers with Cantaloupe, Honeydew & more. In July:
Southern Style Appetizers with Tomeka Smith - Saturday July 7th from 10am to 11:30am ($22+tax). Learn how to make classic Southern appetizers the right way from Tomeka and then enjoy picking up the ingredients from our local Farmer’s Market all season long.
Lettuce Free Salads with Chef Sherry Schie - Tuesday July 10th from 6pm to 7:30pm ($25+tax). Chef Sherry loves to get her students involved in the demonstration process of class so if you’d like a pleasant mix of hands-on & demonstration classes you’ll love learning these 4 Salads & 4 Dressings!
*LR Class: Cool as a Cucumber with Jennifer McMullen - Saturday July 14th from 10am to 11:30am ($24+tax). Cool off, refresh, and nourish your body with several recipes using locally grown Cucumbers in this seasonal class with Jennifer McMullen – experienced TKS instructor & Local Roots Producer.
Chocolate Desserts with Connie Winkler - Wednesday July 18th from 6pm to 7:30pm ($25+tax). If you love Chocolate as much as (or even more than) the next person, this is a class full of stunning recipe ideas to impress and “wow” your friends and family with all year long!
Ribs 101 with Omahoma Bob’s - Saturday July 21st from 10am to 11:30am ($24+tax). Learn from the master Rib maker of our neighborhood how to be the Rib Champion of yours in this informative class on how to prepare mouth-watering Ribs!
Healthy Stir-Fry with Summer Vegetables with Sue-min Lee - Saturday July 28th from 10am to 11:30am ($28+tax). Details for this class are still in progress.
